It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Lights, Christmas trees, parties, cookies, we love it all (in a very excited Buddy The Elf kind of way). We know this time of year can be stressful, but let’s not forget what this season is really about and make time to enjoy this particular time of year.

Connecticut is full of holiday cheer, with fun events for all ages happening this month. Whether you’re looking for a classic CT Christmas tradition or a new tradition to start, we have the ultimate holiday event guide for you the Hartford/West Hartford area.

Friday December 1st 5-8PM

Blue Back Square & West Hartford Center

West Hartford Holiday Stroll | We-ha.com

A classic West Hartford tradition, great for the whole family. Stroll around Blue Back Square and West Hartford center and enjoy a tree lighting ceremony, live music, tasty treats, photo-booth fun, visits with Santa, tree festival, horse-drawn carriage rides, and more!

Sunday December 10th 11AM - 5PM

Hartford Artspace

Shop for fun unique gifts from local vendors and help raise money for a good cause. Vendors include Cinder + Salt, Hartford Prints, Tainted Inc, Marni Designs and more. All proceeds go to Protectors of Animals.

The WeHa Artists Emporium is thrilled to be back for their annual holiday market. With over 20 local artists, and craftsmen, you’ll be able to find the perfect one of a kind gift while supporting local talent.

Stock the cruiser toy and food drive to benefit Gifts of Canton, plus ice sculpture demonstrations starting at noon, Victorian carolers PLUS an ugly sweater stroll, make this a day you won't want to miss!

The Wadsworth Atheneum

Explore the beautiful galleries of The Wadsworth full of festive trees and wreaths. Enjoy unique installations from Hartford Stage, Connecticut Ballet, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, and TheaterWorks Hartford, visits from Mr. & Mrs. Clauss, and more!

Collinsville, CT

Toast to the holidays while you stroll the historic village of Collinsville, explore the local shops and enjoy other tasty bites and drinks. To join in on the festivities, buy your commemorative Champagne flute or flute charm and bring your glass.

Not only is there free ice skating but free rentals and lessons all season long. Warm-up with something hot after at local coffee shops, Sarah’s Coffee, Blue State Coffee or Story & Soil.

Know Good Holiday Bazaar Hartford

Everyone’s favorite outdoor market is back for the holidays! Hosted in four nearby venues, Hog River Brewing Co., The Dirt Salon, Hands on Hartford & Hartford Denim Company will be full of amazing crafts and treats from local artisans & vendors. Who doesn’t wanna grab a beer & a bite while they get some shopping done?

December 9th 11AM - 9 PM

Start a new tradition with Hog River Brewing Co., for their first ever Christmas Tree Farm. Pick out the perfect tree, and be among the first to try the release of their new beer, Chocolate Milk Stout. Craftbird Food Truck and Faddy’s Donuts & Ice Cream will be parked outside all day long. Stop by the tap-room for some holiday shopping, courtesy of the Know Good Holiday Bazaar.

Playhouse on Park, West Hartford, CT

Are you naughty or nice? Back by popular demand, join Playhouse on Park and celebrate the most wonderful time of year with a wild night full of music, dance, comedy, laughter, and merriment. This show is not for everyone (adults only), and Mama D warns, “We’re rude, we’re crude, and we’re partially nude!” PLUS bring whatever spirit your heart desires, the show is BYOB!

December 1-16th

Carriage House Theater, Hartford, CT

Get in some laughter this holiday season with a comic retelling of a Christmas Carol, featuring none other than Donald Trump as Ebenezer Scrooge. Will he redeem himself before it’s too late? Held at Hartbeat Ensemble’s Carriage House Theater, enjoy a night full of political comedy in one of Hartford’s most historic buildings.

December 16th 1-8 PM

West Hartford, CT

West Hartford Santa Con

Grab your Santa hat and ugly Christmas sweater, because SantaCon is back for its second year. Join in on everyone’s favorite holiday bar crawl, and stay toasty with drink specials from Bar Louie, Grants, McLadden’s and more!
